You can also use it to successfully gauge all petroleum and by-products for water content, plus sulphuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, ammonia, soap solutions, salt and other chloride solutions. Gasoline Finding Paste A most effective top level indicator, this light pink paste turns to a contrast of red upon contact with petrol or gasoline, naphthalene, kerosene, gas oil, crude oil, jet fuels, and various chemicals. How is it used? This unique paste can be used with a measuring gauge, rod or calibrated line to determine water or fuel level. Apply the paste in the area that the level is expected to appear. When the paste comes in contact with water it will immediately change from golden brown to bright red, marking the level.
